Hi! My radio hour story is about a challenging teaching situation... if you'd like to use the story to talk about teaching, here's the YouTube video of it. (If your school doesn't allow YouTube videos, get in touch and I can help you get access-- or use the audio, available on PRX here.)
I've also performed two other teaching stories so far on Moth stages-- one whose theme was "Moving," about a boy who couldn't stop moving in class, and another whose theme was "Theft," about a rash of mysterious Lego thefts. Check them out on my Storytelling page, and if you'd like to talk to me about teacher stories (hearing more, telling some, bringing the Moth to work with your school) I would love to hear from you. Get in touch!
This week I am on the Moth Radio Hour, along with some other excellent storytellers-- including my longtime hero, SUZANNE VEGA. A friend recommended that I listen on an actual radio, which I'm going to try to do. The Moth Radio Hour is on NPR across the country; here, on WNYC, it airs Wednesdays at 8 pm on 93.9 FM, Saturdays at 2 pm on 93.9 FM, and Saturdays at 7 pm on AM 820. Tune in! And then go here to see some little extras (including a video from when I taught 3rd grade).
My dream is coming true and I'll be telling a story at ASK ME STORIES!
